Perry Mandera (34), is president and founder of the Custom Companies. Mr. Mandera started in 1986 with the proceeds of the sale of an independent air freight forwarding and freight brokerage company he had opened two years earlier. In the first years of the company he focused on marketing and selling but now devotes the majority of his time to planning, acquisitions and corporate administrative duties.

Mr. Mandera began his career in the trucking industry as a truck driver in the U.S Army. Shortly after being discharged, he became an owner-operator for a local cartage company and then opened a franchised air freight forwarding company in 1982.
